We are excited to announce auditions for our BACKSTAGE Dance Company! The auditions will take place on various days throughout the summer and will be organized by age group:

 

June Audition Dates:

- Monday, June 8: 6:30 to 7:30 PM for ages 6 to 9 years old

- Wednesday, June 10: 6:30 to 7:30 PM for ages 10 to 17

 

July Audition Dates:

- Monday, July 12: 6:30 to 7:30 PM for ages 6 to 9

- Wednesday, July 14: 6:30 to 7:30 PM for ages 10 to 17

 

The audition is free, but please adhere to our attire requirements for both ladies and gentlemen. Dancers should arrive warm and ready to dance. Auditions will begin promptly at 6:30 PM, with check-in starting at 6:25 PM, at our Arden Manor location.

 

Attire Requirements:

- Ladies: Leotards, tights, and ballet skirts are acceptable, paired with jazz or ballet flats. Hair should be pulled back in a slick bun or ponytail.

- Gentlemen: Dance pants and a fitted athletic top. Hair should be styled away from the face.

 

BACKSTAGE Dance Company provides opportunities for dancers of all levels to grow at a pre-professional level. We will also hold weekend sessions based on upcoming performances, which will include technique training and choreography for community events. Dancers will be grouped by age. We aim to have a spring showcase for our company dancers, depending on company size. Families will receive ample notice regarding rehearsals, community performances, and anything outside of our regular Thursday required Company class from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. This class is no extra fee and your dancer may not always be called to every Thursday class. We understand that kids enjoy other activities, but we ask that those auditioning for this company prioritize this commitment for the season.

 

Our atmosphere is collaborative and supportive, with instructors providing personalized feedback to help each dancer grow and reach their full potential. To be part of the company, dancers are required to take three classes a week: Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, in addition to the company class on Thursdays(note:comapny class is included as being part of company). While additional classes are welcomed, these three are mandatory with consistent attendance.

 

There is a one-time fee of $250 to cover the cost of your dancer's company costume (which they will keep), as well as company attire and choreography fees. Ladies must wear skin toned tights, jazz tan flats, and can also wear skirts or shorts. Hair must be pulled back in a slick low bun or ponytail for all classes/rehearsals. Gentlemen should wear jazz pants and a fitted black athletic shirt with black jazz shoes, and hair styled away from the face (no hats). We want all our company dancers to look uniform and professional. We will inform you of the tap shoe requirements for our company dancers before the season starts. 

 

Additional fees for tickets and possible costume rentals may apply for the spring showcase. Families will be notified in advance before the season starts and before any payments are due to hold your spot in the company.
